Journalism in Panther Class

As part of their AQA Unit Award in English, Panther Class have been learning about newsletters. A group of pupils have been working hard over the last few weeks, building up to writing a final news article all about their Duke of Edinburgh volunteering project ‘Toastie Time’.

The pupils have learnt about features of a news article, such as headlines, captions, pictures, facts and quotes. In the weeks leading up to writing the final article, Panther Class prepared questions to interview staff on the Engage and Explore pathways, to find out their views about 'Toastie Time.' They then took part in shared writing activities over a few lessons to design and create their very own article. The staff team were so proud and they printed the article and displayed it around school for everyone to see.
