For our Duke of Edinburgh skills section this half term we will be visiting Morrisons each week. This week was our first visit and it was a huge success. We spent time exploring the shop and where certain items were located. We then gave the students items to find and they all did exceptionally well, in both remembering the layout of the shop and reading the signs in each aisle to direct us. After this we went into the café for a hot drink. We chose our drink and paid individually. Our manners as ever were impeccable. The students sat together and the staff, in further promoting independence, sat on a table nearby. It was an absolute joy to see the students interacting and chatting whilst enjoying their drinks, they made sure that everyone was relaxed and included in the conversation. As a staff team, we all felt very proud and quite emotional at what lovely young adults our students are becoming. A huge well done Elm Class.
