On Tuesday we started a new Humanities topic all about World War 2. We started the lesson in a different classroom and listened to a radio announcement informing us we were now at war. We heard air raid sirens and explosions. We were then given our own identity cards ready for us to be evacuated. Students then packed up a case using items that had been scattered around the room. The students were given a list of items to check off.

Once they had gathered what they thought they would need, they were evacuated back to class with their suitcase, gas mask and identity cards. The students were really engaged and loved re-enacting the evacuation process. Once we were back in the classroom we discussed why people were evacuated, where they would be evacuated to and how they would feel if it happened to them. It was such a fun lesson.
