Chocolate Rocks!
Return to Latest News
Our Science topic this half term is different types of rocks!
As our experiment this week, Willow Class are trying to make different types of rock using different chocolates! We have been learning about igneous, sedimentary & metamorphic rocks. We have been focusing on what characteristics the 3 different types of rocks have and where we can find each rock.
For our experiment we grated all 3 kinds of chocolate into different bowl. One type of rock was made by moulding the chocolate into a ball to represent metamorphic rock. The next rock was made by layering the different types of chocolate to form sedimentary. Lastly, we melted the chocolate to form igneous rock. All the pupils loved this experiment, it was a great chance to work together!
