Engage:
In the Engage Pathway careers related learning is approached through the exploration of people that we might come across in our day to day life and what their roles are. Stories and role play are often a stimulus and give a context to these jobs and roles.
Explore:
In the Explore Pathway careers related learning is set in the context of the half termly topic. The main breadth of careers will be taught with references to key life skills.
This is to help pupils on this pathway, to begin to develop skills across key areas to help develop their skills within preparation for adulthood and awareness of the world around us. A curriculum is in place which includes suggested activities aimed to develop skills for key career lessons.
The suggested educational visits and experiences, are planned so pupils can use and apply their knowledge and understanding from the activities and adapt these skills to the wider world.
This will support our pupils to understand how the skills and knowledge they gain in school will be relevant throughout their life.
Discover:
In the Discover Pathway Careers related learning enables students to understand what skills they need to be successful.
They learn the skills of listening, speaking, problem solving, creativity, staying positive, aiming high, leadership and teamwork.
They learn to make decisions and have a good picture of the world of work and what they can do to realise their dreams.
