Slippery Stuff in Science for Elm Class!
Return to Latest NewsElm Class had a lovely start to the week. On Monday the students absolutely loved their Science experiment. As our Science topic this half term is solids, liquids and gases, we conducted an experiment to see how a material can go from a solid to a liquid and back again. One of the easiest and most effective ways to demonstrate this is an old favourite… corn flour! We spoke about what might happen and then went over to the Science Room to conduct the experiment. It was lots of fun and we think the students (and staff!) really enjoyed the feel of the solid cornflour mix turning magically into liquid again when we held it in our hands. It was a great Science lesson that we all enjoyed, even if it did include a lot of tidying up afterwards.
