Pupil Premium

The Government provides Pupil Premium funding which is additional to main school funding. The pupil premium grant is designed to support schools in helping disadvantaged pupils by improving their progress and the exam results they achieve when compared with their peers.

As we are a new school, our Pupil Premium calculations will be calculated based on the number of eligible pupils on roll in October 2020. In 2020/21 we anticipate receiving the following funding for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years:

  • £1,345 for primary aged pupils
  • £955 for secondary aged pupils
  • £2345 for each looked after pupil and previously looked after pupil
  • £310 for service pupils

Nationally children and young people have experienced unprecedented interruption to their education as result of the Coronavirus Pandemic. Those who are from the most vulnerable and underprivileged backgrounds will be amongst some of those who are hardest hit. Harry Watts Academy will strive to make sure that disadvantaged pupils are not left behind.
